My purpose for writing this discovery essay was to dig deeper into the effect social media has on kids my age, adolescents being aged 10-19 almost every kid in this age range has some form of social media. My process in writing this essay was a tough one. It came with a lot of stress and confusion but I got it done and I am proud of myself. My draft was very lackluster. I couldn’t find any sources to be honest and that made it difficult to fulfill the goal of 5 sources. After my meeting with you I made it a goal to find the best sources I could. The hardest one was the interview because I didn’t know who was the best option so I stuck with a doctor that was my best bet. Revivising my draft was pretty easy because my draft wasn’t really good so A lot of improvement made it easy to add things and remove unnecessary things. I even reworded my research question it was originally going to be “How does social media negatively impact the youth” but then I decided to switch it to “What are the effects of social media on the adolescent mind” which can be the same thing but I felt that the new research question felt a lot more professional and it helped when looking for resources. I also fixed some grammatical errors such as run-on sentences etc.
